Private James Edward Western – 7th Norfolk Regiment (originally joined Lincolnshire Regiment)

Private Western was killed in action on the 23rd June 1917. He was 23 years old.

Private Western is named on the Arras Memorial to the Missing. He was buried east of Monchy-le-Preux, however, his grave was lost during the War.

He worked as a printer before the War at Mr Weall’s printing works on Silver Street, Gainsborough.

He enlisted in September 1914 and went to the Front in August 1916.
