Lance Cpl. Ingle was killed in action on 3rd July 1916 at the Battle of the Somme. He was 35 years old.
Lance Cpl. George Robert Ingle has no known grave, though his headstone says he was buried in Shelter Wood.
He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing. He is also remembered on the Gainsborough Constitutional Club Roll of Honour
